UNLOCK A NEW LEVEL OF RELAXATION
Health Benefits - Does it really work?
Scottish Sauna Culture is becoming increasingly accessible, reconnecting us with the ancient practice of self-healing through the powerful wellbeing ritual of deep heat. By embracing this experience, we rediscover the secret to a happier life.
Improved Cardiovascular Health
Sauna sessions elevate your heart rate, similar to light exercise, strengthening your heart and improving circulation. Regular sauna use has been linked to a reduced risk of heart disease and stroke, according to studies.
Detoxification
Sweating in a sauna helps your body eliminate toxins and impurities, leaving your skin feeling refreshed and invigorated. Enhanced blood flow can also promote skin health and provide relief for conditions like eczema and psoriasis.
Muscle Relaxation and Pain Relief
Saunas help soothe sore muscles, reduce inflammation, and accelerate recovery, making them ideal for post-workout relaxation or managing chronic pain.
Stress Reduction and Mental Health Benefits
The heat stimulates an increase in heart rate and blood flow, triggering the release of endorphins—the body’s natural feel-good chemicals. This leaves you feeling calm, de-stressed, and rejuvenated.
Skin Health
Sweating in a sauna opens pores and promotes healthy circulation, enhancing your skin’s natural glow while supporting its overall health.
Improved Respiratory Function
Saunas can help open airways, improve breathing, and relieve symptoms of respiratory conditions, offering a soothing experience for the lungs.
Enhanced Immune Function
Regular sauna use can boost your immune system by stimulating white blood cell production, helping your body fight off illness more effectively.
Weight Loss and Calorie Burn
The heat increases your heart rate, mimicking light exercise and promoting calorie burn. While not a primary weight-loss tool, saunas can complement a healthy lifestyle.
Improved Flexibility
Sauna heat improves blood circulation and reduces inflammation, helping muscles recover faster and enhancing flexibility.
Social and Relaxation Benefits
Saunas are perfect for unwinding with friends or family, fostering connection and relaxation. The post-sauna cooling period can also promote better sleep, mimicking the body’s natural pre-sleep temperature drop for a deeper, more restful night’s rest.
What's more meet new friends, locals and visitors for the views and local craic.
The Sauna - The Dream
Specially handcrafted from Nordic Thermowood, our luxury sauna's have been built and designed for the ultimate authentic thermal experience.
Our sauna wood is cut and stacked on our Highland croft by hand, ready for firing up. Reaching temperatures of around 80 -95degrees, the rejuvenating power of sauna promotes relaxation, boosts mood, aids cardiovascular circulation and melts away tension and stress.
The sauna business was created organically with passion and sheer determination after we were caring intensively for our mother who has Alzheimer's. Research was telling us that it can reduce the chances of getting/ reducing Dementia by up to 60% This was a way forward and with our experience towing trailers and running events the idea of sharing it with the wider community was born and driven forwards.

What is a Wild Sauna and what should I expect ?

Our sauna's are purpose built outdoor sauna units made of wood shaped like barrels designed specifically to help you sweat.
Expect the temperature to be hot, it is important to hydrate well before entering the sauna and during your session.
We recommend spending 5-12 minutes in the sauna before exiting to cool down and rehydrate, especially for those who do not use saunas regularly who should build up tolerance over a few sauna sessions.

Can I put water onto the stove?
Yes, you can manage steam that rises from the sauna stove, allowing control of humidity and intensity of the heat.
Although adding water over the rocks humidifies the session, and is one of the best aspects of an authentic sauna, please remember not to dump water on the rocks.
Instead, drizzle water on with a ladle intermittently until the heat reaches an appropriate level. Adding a lot of water in a small space can create a wave of unexpected heat for fellow guests as well as yourself.
A trained member of staff will be nearby at all times for any queries and support you may need managing the heat and the water on the rocks.
